this weekend was awesome. for real.
friday night, i drove to the city to meet a friend for dinner. not surprisingly, there was traffic at 5:45pm on a friday night directly adjacent to the ballpark. i tried to make the best of it.
i know this isn't anything new, but i so love leather menu covers. bar bambino (in the mission) is no exception. sorry, i probably should have cropped out the lens cap...
i can say that the food, drink and company couldn't be beat.
hi, k!
mmmmmm.... cheese. if you think we didn't nom some of this, you clearly don't know us.
i know this picture is *kinda* terrible, but i couldn't resist. i was very safe while taking it out my driver's side window on the lower level of the bay bridge. the sunset made me do it. kthxbai.
cut to saturday morning. after a morning walk - b and i ventured with the baby (ringo had a boys weekend with my brother) over the hills and through the woods to spent the day (and night) with my grandmother.
i couldn't stop taking pictures of lola keeping lookout from b's lap. the girl is a natural.
we should've flown.
ah, california. you glorious landscape, you.
we were able to spend some really, really lovely quality time with my grandmother (and b painted her porch!), and drove home late last night. we talked a lot during our visit, especially about the differences between "the greatest generation" and ours. taking good care of the things you have - buying only what you truly need (with cash!) - never going to bed with dishes in the sink... generally just making due with what you have and being happy about it.
perspective? check.
happy monday.
