spring ahead

the hour of sleep we lost sunday morning seems to be righted by the extra sunlight streaming though the windows at dinnertime. 

on the table with us to enjoy the golden hour were some of our farmers market goodies. ranunculus and sweet pea bunches for $3, tulips for $4... i had to remind myself i hadn't gotten to the avocado stall yet so i couldn't empty my pocketbook and buy them out entirely.

let the record show that despite my admiration, plants often die in my presence. but i got a great tip from the flower lady about keeping sweet peas alive and 'brighter' after they are cut - she said to only put about 2 inches of water in the vase and keep an eye on it for refill. apparently they'll just drink themselves to death, if you let them!

is it my imagination, or do rooms seems to smile with the addition of fresh flowers?
