warning: i'm about to get annoyingly existential.
i feel more myself in certain places. happier, more free, innately comfortable. places i can let go of what i want to be and enjoy who i am.
one of my happy places is southern california. i lived there for a number of years after college, and thinking about it - it's where i decided to become an adult. i learned how to pay my bills (on time), enjoy the sunshine without getting a sunburn (most of the time), and overcome the fear of my apartment being broken into in the middle of the night (never). going back almost feels like going home.
do you have a happy place? and what's your secret for bottling the magic when you leave?
