b and i were talking last night about how this weekend seemed to last longer than usual. i'm sure it helped that the weather was perfect and parks and streets were full of festive people.
friday night, we went on a date (note: i think friday is better than saturday - start the weekend off right!). pasta pomodoro is somewhat a local chain (there are three), but we really love that place. it feels like a local neighborhood joint, and they've made a recent shift to source and use even more local ingredients and humane meats - even their beer is from small local breweries. we love that.
faux bois. they must watch martha.
they've redone the menu - i really like the design. it's clean and easy to read - even those pesky calorie counts.
shrimp gamberi
lover.
this is a local beer from san francisco, which b gives two thumbs up. i liked the watchful eyes.
lets see... beet salad with arugula, beets, and point reyes blue. farro with tomatoes, garlic and spinach. and butternut squash ravioli with brown butter and sage.
we shut that place down.
sometimes i chastise myself for going out to eat (it's expensive, it's not as healthy, blah blah blah) but those voices are quieted when frequenting a local business who makes really good food.
most importantly, i think investing in our marriage is worth a hundred times as much.
happy monday.
