invested

here's what didn't get done this weekend:

 - the piles of laundry on our bedroom floor
 - the finishing touches on our taxes
 - the dry cleaning pick up
 - the grocery shopping for weekday lunches

basically, nothing on the 'weekend list' can be crossed off this morning.

because instead of all of these things, i:

 - went on a dinner date with my husband

 - spent a day in the city with a good friend

 - took care of my parents' animals while they were out of town

 - spent sunday wrapped up in blankets watching movies with b and the fur babies


i felt guilty for a little while that i was so unproductive. until i realized that in lieu of ticking tasks of a list, i actually spent my weekend investing in relationships with the people that matter to me.

so even though i'm going to have to go dig to the depths of my closet for something to wear to work today, i think i can live with that.
